VP of Engineering
Chris Sandifer
Chris Sandifer has designed and interconnected medium- and high-voltage renewable generation since 1992. He is a Professional Engineer licensed in six states — South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, Georgia, Virginia and Texas — a NABCEP board-certified Photovoltaic System Inspector, and a North Carolina Licensed Electrical Contractor with the Unlimited Classification.
On a OneWorld Solar project he vets the site for interconnection compatibility and congestion constraints before design starts, produces preliminary layouts, interconnection technical data and single-line diagrams, and carries the utility review through to the witness test.
Interconnection is where commercial solar projects most often stall, and it is the part a customer cannot easily judge from a proposal. Having it owned by a licensed engineer in the state where the project is built is the difference between a schedule that holds and one that slips a quarter.
Chris also reviews the technical and incentive content published on this site.
What Chris works on
- Medium and high voltage utility interconnection
- Photovoltaic system design
- Single line diagrams and interconnection applications
