Doug Baird
Doug Baird acquired OneWorld in October 2017 and rebuilt it into a commercial solar EPC turning over $7.8M a year, with more than 7.8 MW installed for over 300 customers across Georgia, Florida, the Carolinas and the Caribbean.
He holds two United States patents for solar racking, granted in 2020 and 2025, and the company designs and assembles its own BatteryCube commercial storage cabinets rather than reselling somebody else's.
Before solar, Doug acquired eight telecommunications companies over ten years and founded SwiftTel Communications, a Georgia statewide telephone company running five Sonus GSX 9000 class 4/5 switch colocations on an OC-12 fiber backbone. He sold it in 2007, then co-founded the world's first cloud-based video conferencing company; the software and intellectual property are now owned by Cisco.
He is a disabled U.S. Army combat engineer officer and a Gulf War veteran, which is why OneWorld Solar is a disabled veteran-owned business.
