Doug Baird acquired OneWorld in October 2017 and rebuilt it into a commercial solar EPC doing $7.8M a year. He holds two solar racking patents (2020 and 2025) and is a disabled U.S. Army combat engineer officer and Gulf War veteran.

Before solar, Doug acquired eight telecommunications companies over ten years and founded SwiftTel Communications, a Georgia statewide telephone company running five Sonus GSX 9000 class 4/5 switch colocations on an OC-12 fiber backbone. He sold it in 2007, then co-founded the world’s first cloud-based video conferencing company; the software and intellectual property are now owned by Cisco.
